LMG Gemcheck Cards Replace Paper Claims Checks
Loss Management Group (LMG) is the United Kingdom’s largest organization specializing in the professional management of claims for damage, loss or theft of jewelry, watches, collectables, art and antiques.
In 2005, LMG decided to replace its current paper check system of paying claims to a gift card system, which the company calls the Gemcheck card. In the case of theft or loss, claimants receive a Gemcheck card preloaded with the assessed value of the claim. Gemcheck cards are valid for 12 months and can used at more than 1,400 authorized High Street dealers throughout the United Kingdom. Cardholders can spend the amount at one merchant or several merchants.
